Drafting the "Holiday Schedule" section of the Separation Agreement
Alongside the regular schedule, the Parenting Plan section of the Separation Agreement may incorporate holiday stay arrangements for the child.
For instance, if John and Mary are the parents, the holiday schedule section of the separation agreement might appear as follows:
School Spring Break
The child will reside with John in odd-numbered years and with Mary in even-numbered years, from his leaving school as the school spring break starts until his return to school following the break.
Easter Weekend
The child will reside with John in odd-numbered years and with Mary in even-numbered years, from his leaving school on the Thursday before the Easter weekend until his return to school on the following Tuesday.
Mother's Day
If is not otherwise with on this weekend, the child will reside with Mary on Mother's Day weekend, from Saturday at 7:00 p.m until his return to school on Monday.
Victoria Day Weekend
The child will reside with John on Victoria Day weekends in odd-numbered years and with Mary in even-numbered years, from his leaving school on Friday until his return to school on Tuesday.
Father's Day
If is not otherwise with on this weekend, the child will reside with John on Father's Day weekend, from Saturday at 7:00 p.m. until his return to school on Monday.
Summer Camp
The child will attend overnight summer camp each year.
Summer Vacation
The child will reside with each parent for 4 consecutive weeks during the child's summer school vacation. John and Mary will advise each other by April 1st of their chosen weeks, with John to have first choice in odd-numbered years and Mary to have first choice in even-numbered years. In making plans, each parent will take into account the child's camp and other scheduled activities.
Thanksgiving Weekend
The child will reside with John on Thanksgiving weekend in odd-numbered years and with Mary in even-numbered years, from his leaving school on the Friday before Thanksgiving until his return to school on the following Tuesday.
Halloween
John will have the child for Halloween in odd-numbered years and Mary will have him in even-numbered years, from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The parent who has the child for Halloween will be responsible for the child's costume.
Christmas
The parties will share equally the child's Christmas school break. The child will reside with John for the first half of the break in odd-numbered years and with Mary for the first half in even-numbered years. The first half will start at 3:30 p.m. on the child's last day of school in December. The second half will conclude upon the child's return to school in January
Child's Birthday
The child will spend his birthday in accordance with the regular schedule.
